Obituary: Lucy Ann Vena Zdanowich, 95, of Fairfield
Lucy liked to cook, bake, crochet, dance and play pinochle. She was an incredible woman of courage, strength, faith and love.

Lucy Ann Vena Zdanowich, 95, of Fairfield, the beloved wife of 51 years, of the late Stanley Zdanowich, entered eternal life on December 18, 2016. Born in Bridgeport on August 22, 1921, she was the daughter of the late John and Loretta (Lawlor) Vena. She was a resident of Fairfield for over 65 years.
Lucy was a devoted and active communicant of St. Anthony of Padua Church, President of the Women’s Guild and Secretary of St. Anthony’s Seniors. She was an Administrative Clerk at Avco Lyoming, retired in 1983 and then became secretary of Textron (Avco) Lycoming Retirees and secretary of the Sikorsky Teamsters Local 1150 Retirees. She also volunteered for the VITA Tax Program at the Fairfield Public Library.

Lucy returned to school for her GED and graduated from Housatonic Community College in 1992 with an Associate in Science Degree.

She is survived by her loving and devoted daughter, Mazie Zdanowich of Fairfield; her brother, John Vena of Shelton and her sister, Sarah Masso of Stratford. In addition to her husband, Lucy was predeceased by her son, John Zdanowich; her brother, Anthony Vena; and her two sisters, Dominica Sherwood and Philomena Quinto.
