Obituary: Marie Fay Adams, 46, of Fairfield
Her lifelong passion was teaching & was truly gifted in her field. She truly represented what is good in the world & will be missed by all.

Marie Fay Adams, 46, of Fairfield, entered into eternal rest on June 22 after a very courageous battle with ovarian cancer, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Bridgeport on December 15, 1971, Marie is survived by her devoted husband of almost 12 years, John Adams of Fairfield, a sister, Annfay Brady and her husband Kevin of the Westville section of New Haven, two brothers, William Wonneberger and his wife Marie Guglielmo of Allentown, PA, and Charles Wonneberger and his wife Cathy of Middletown, her Godmother and cousin Marian Brennan and her husband Jerry of Cheshire, her cousin Carol Ann Wetmore of Stratford, and also several additional cousins, nieces and nephews.

Marie earned her Masters’ degree in teaching and also numerous cross-certifications in typical and special education. Her lifelong passion was teaching. She was truly gifted in her field. She was also loved and admired by many of her colleagues, past and present students and their families over the past 20 years of her career.
Her hobbies included living a healthy lifestyle, going to Zumba classes with her friends, and walking the numerous local trails with her beloved “son” (Maltese) named Skippy. She truly represented what is good in the world and will be sorely missed by all.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 4 to 8 PM in the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home 1209 Post Road, in Fairfield Center. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 1030 AM in Holy Cross Church 750 Tahmore Drive, Fairfield. Her interment in Saint Thomas Cemetery will be private.
Marie’s husband would be thankful for contributions in her name to: Discovery to Cure Program, Yale School of Medicine – Dept. of OBGYN, P.O. Box 208063, 333 Cedar Street, New Haven, CT 06520-8063 (a research program dedicated to finding the cure for Ovarian Cancer).
