Marie Mentes, age 90, of Fairfield, CT passed away peacefully on April 25th. She was born in Stratford, CT to the late Arthur and Mary (Soltis) Mitchell. She was a lifelong resident of Fairfield, CT for 65 years with her late husband Richard. She and Richard were longtime members of the Port 5 and Fayerweather Yacht Club in Bridgeport, CT.

She was a loving wife, sister, mother and grandmother. She always loved making her Hungarian cookies at Christmas time and eating lobster at any time.

Marie is survived by her 4 children, son Richard, 3 daughters - Tina and her husband Jay and their 2 children Aaron & Stephen, Dawn Mentes, Elaine Weiant and her husband Bruce, sister Barbara Mitchell, brother Joseph Mitchell and wife Mary, as well as nieces.

At the request of the family, a private burial will be held at Lawncroft Cemetery in Fairfield. Flowers or memorial contributions to your favorite charity are equally welcome.
