Obituary: Mark Ira Greenstein, 65; Longtime Fairfield Resident

Mark Ira Greenstein, 65, devoted husband of Donna Marie Musso Greenstein, of Fairfield, passed away on July 2, 2016. He would have turned 66 years old on July 6th, 2016.

In addition to Donna Marie, his loving wife of 43 years, Mark's memory will be embraced by his two daughters Danielle of Hoboken, NJ, and Dina Marie of Fairfield; his brother Barry and wife Giovanna of Bradenton, FL.; as well as his brother-in-laws, Jerry and Joseph Musso, both of Fairfield; many dear family, friends and business associates. Mark is predeceased by his parents, Arthur and Rhoda Bufferd Greenstein.

A longtime resident of Fairfield, Mark was in the Real Estate business for 40+ years. He was a real estate broker and owner of Mark Greenstein Real Estate. Those who knew Mark recognized his love for boating and being on the ocean is where he was happiest. Many summer days would include anchoring his boat off Fairfield Beach or cruising to Captain's Cove where he and Donna were often spotted on the dance floor.

Mark was passionate about assisting others. He and Donna were actively involved with St. Vincent's Swim Across the Sound for the last 5 years as his wife is a cancer survivor. As with prior years, they had plans to be one of the "guide boats" this July, looking after swimmers for the annual swim across Long Island Sound. Mark had a gift of connecting with people and could strike up a conversation with anyone. He truly enjoyed making people laugh. Mark will be warmly remembered.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, July 7th from 4:30-7:30 PM in the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home, 1209 Post Road, in Fairfield Center. At 7:30 PM, Reverend David Spollett will officiate an Interfaith prayer service. His interment will be private.
