Obituary: Mary Flynn, 86

Mary was a psychologist for many years for the Westport public school system. A Celebration of Life reception will be held in Southport.

Mary Flynn, 86, of Westport, the beloved wife of the late James Flynn II, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 24, 2017. She was born in the Bronx to the late James and Rosanne McKelvey and was a longtime area resident.

Mary was a psychologist for many years for the Westport public school system. She was a devoted member of The First Church of Christian Science Westport as well as The Mother Church of Christian Science Boston. Mary took great pride in being a practitioner of her faith, her healings and her volunteer work at the Mercy Learning Center.

Mary is survived by her loving children, Joseph Flynn, Rosanne Flynn, Mary “Bobbie” Flynn-Johnson and her husband John Johnson and James Flynn III; her grandchildren, Erin, Patrick, Sarah, Jimmy, Danny, Kaitlyn, Shannon, Dallas, Kalla and Thomas; her great grandchildren, Jackson, Tripp and Jaylyn; her sister-in-law, Pat; and nieces and nephews, Scott, Jackie, Nicole and Jim. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Thomas.

Friends are invited to a Celebration of Life reception in the Folly Room at Delamar Southport on Saturday, August 5, 2017 from 12 to 3 p.m.
