Obituary: Ned William Shoop, 87, of Fairfield
He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He was an avid golfer and also a member of the Senior Bowling League in Fairfield.

Ned William Shoop, 87, of Fairfield, beloved husband of Carol Shoop, passed away peacefully Friday, November 30, 2018. Born in Shamokin, PA the son of the late Frank and Katie Shoop, he had been a Fairfield resident for many years.
He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. Mr. Shoop worked for the Bassick Company and Casco Products. He was an avid golfer and also a member of the Senior Bowling League in Fairfield. Ned delighted in time spent with his family and friends.

Survivors in addition to his loving wife Carol include two children, Cathy Horvath and Craig Shoop both of Fairfield; two grandsons; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by five brothers and sisters.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Fairfield Grace United Methodist Church, 1089 Fairfield Woods Road. Interment will follow in Lawncroft Cemetery. Friends may greet the family Tuesday from 4-7 p.m. in the Spear-Miller Funeral Home, 39 South Benson Road, Fairfield.
