The following obituary of Fairfield resident Ralph O. Cafiero, Sr., 71, is from Lesko & Polke Funeral Home:
Ralph O. Cafiero, Sr., 71, beloved husband of Karen Cafiero, entered into eternal life on Monday, January 23, 2023.
Ralph will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 51 years, as well as his children, Tracy Henchcliffe and her husband, David, of Fairfield, and Ralph Cafiero, Jr. and daughter in law Sonya, of Fairfield; grandchildren, Tyler Henchcliffe, of San Francisco, CA, Samantha Henchcliffe, of Fairfield; sisters, Patricia Fetcho and Joe Fetcho, of Fairfield, Mary DeCrescenzo, and her husband, Paul, of Fort Myers, FL. Kathleen Cosgrove and her husband, Mark, of Derby; sisters in law, Denise Pine and her husband, Bruce, of Trumbull, Lynda Delvecchio and her husband, Jeff, of Brookfield; as well as all of his nieces and nephews. Ralph was predeceased by his parents, Ralph and Mary Cafiero, and in-laws, Peter and Ginny Luzetsky.

Ralph is a graduate of Andrew Warde High School. He would go on to work with State of CT Department of Transportation, Toll Division. He later attended the Connecticut State Police Academy and went on to work with the Department of Motor Vehicles in Norwalk for over 25 years, becoming a Sergeant until his retirement in 2006. In addition to spending time with his family, Ralph loved antique cars and spent summer weekends attending car shows especially enjoying Hershey and Carlisle with his sidekick and best friend, Tom Keiser. He will also be missed by his furry friend, Dakota.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, January 31, at St Pius X Church in Fairfield. Interment followed at Oak Lawn Cemetery, Fairfield.
