Obituary: Robert Kenneth O’Rourke, 88; Longtime Fairfield Resident
O'Rourke proudly served in the U.S. Navy, was a CT State Police Auxiliary Trooper for 36 years and a Fairfield RTM Board of Finance member.

Robert Kenneth O’Rourke, 88, a longtime Fairfield resident and beloved husband of the late Joan Kathleen O’Rourke, died peacefully Saturday, August 6, 2016 at his home surrounded by his family.
Born January 29, 1928 in Bridgeport, CT, to the late Robert Everett O’Rourke and Eleanor Mahoney O’Rourke, he was raised in Bridgeport. He attended St. Augustine School, graduated from Bullard Havens Technical School and the University of Bridgeport.
Kenneth also proudly served in the U.S. NAVY from 1946 to 1949 as Radar man 3rd class in the South Pacific. He worked at Klaff’s Inc. as a plumbing and heating sales engineer for 40 years, was a Connecticut State Police Auxiliary Trooper out of Troop G in Westport, CT for 36 years, a proud member of the Republican Party, a member of the Town of Fairfield RTM Board of finance, Board of Public health and safety. He was also a member of the Fairfield American Little League, the Roger Ludlowe High School Touchdown Club, and a long standing member of Port 5 Naval Veterans Association, Bridgeport.

Survivors include his four sons, Michael F. O’Rourke and his wife Michele of Fairfield, Patrick R. O’Rourke of Shelton, Robert Sean O’Rourke and his wife Judy of Fairfield, John T. O’Rourke and his wife Cindy of Milford. Grand Children, Michael Jr., Daniel, Kaitlin
