Obituary: Stephen S. Charles, 66, of Fairfield

Stephen S. Charles, 66, of Fairfield, beloved husband of 37 years of Debra G. Charles, passed away Friday, August 18, 2017 in his home. Born in Waterloo, Iowa, the son of the late Robert and Mary Charles, he had been a Fairfield resident for over 20 years.

Stephen graduated from Regis University in Denver. He was a Managing Director and Chief Risk Officer for G.E. Equity and most recently was working as a Credit Executive for Webster Bank in Stamford. Stephen was an avid boater and fisherman, but above all else, delighted in time spent with his family.

Survivors in addition to his loving wife Debra include three beloved sons, Courtney S. Charles and his wife Christine of Babylon, NY, Tyler A. Charles and his wife Fawn of Bangkok , Thailand and Connor M. Charles and his girlfriend Julie Browne of Boston; five siblings, Julie Charles of Denver, CO, Susan Charles of Waterloo, IA, Terri Churchill and her husband Greg of Cedar Rapids, IA, Frank Charles of Denver, CO, and Fred Charles and his wife Holly of Springville, IA; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Carol Charles.
