Obituary: Steven R. Kolar, 44

Steven R. Kolar, age 44, of Bridgeport, formerly of Stamford, passed on Sunday, April 3, 2022.

Born to Rudolf and Marija Kolar, Steven attended Stamford public schools and Stamford High School. As a young man, he enjoyed playing baseball. His love for sports never diminished, as he could always be found cheering on his favorite teams: the New York Mets and the New York Jets. As he grew older, he found a passion for cooking and always aspired to become a professional chef.

Steven leaves behind his loving mother, Marija Kolar. He is predeceased by his father, Rudolf Kolar, and his brother, Josip “Joe” Kolar.

Friends and family are invited to pay their respects on Friday, April 8, 2022, at the Spear-Miller Funeral Home, 39 South Benson Road, from 6-8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated the following morning, Saturday, April 9, 2022, at St. Ann Church, 481 Brewster St., Bridgeport, at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial contribution in Steven’s memory to a charity of one’s choice.
