Obituary: Susan Fanelli, 64, Of Fairfield

Her greatest joy was being surrounded by her friends and family, especially her three grandchildren.

Susan Fanelli, 64, of Fairfield passed away peacefully on the morning of June 7, 2023. She is the beloved wife of her childhood sweetheart, Mauro M. Fanelli, III. Susan was born on October 3, 1958 to Rose D’Alessandro and the late Albert Consiglio in Yonkers, New York.

Susan was an accomplished Real Estate Agent who loved taking on new building and renovation projects with her husband as well as her dear friend and business partner, John E. Emmon. In her free time she enjoyed gardening, cooking, baking and simply sitting by her pool. Her greatest joy was being surrounded by her friends and family, especially her three grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and mother, Susan is survived by her three children; Genevieve and her husband David Ritch of Fairfield, Mauro, and Giulian also of Fairfield. She was the proud Grandmother of Scarlett, Juliette and Dante Ritch. She was the sister and friend to Mark Consiglio, Elisabeth Weaver, and Virginia Dorsch, and the doting aunt of Hunter Howard, Aiden and Emma Dorsch, and Max Martin. Susan was the special nieces of Theresa D'Alessandro. She was predeceased by her father and sister Victoria Howard.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10AM on Tuesday June 13 at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church, 545 Stratfield Rd. Fairfield. Family and friends may visit on Monday from 4-7PM at the Spear-Miller Funeral Home, 39 South Benson Rd, Fairfield. In lieu of flowers Memorial contributions may be made to the Leukemia Lymphoma Society.
