Obituary: W. Jeffrey Polster, 69, Of Fairfield
He loved the outdoors and took pride in his long tenure as a groundskeeper at the Patterson Club.
The following obituary of Fairfield resident William “Jeffrey” Polster, 69, is from Shaughnessey Banks Funeral Home:
William “Jeffrey” Polster, 69, of Fairfield, the son of the late William J. and Lorraine (Aloia) Polster, passed away peacefully after a brief illness on Monday, January 23, 2023. Jeff was a graduate of Roger Ludlowe High School and Sacred Heart University, where he was a member of the Sigma Psi Delta fraternity.
He loved the outdoors and took pride in his long tenure as a groundskeeper at the Patterson Club. Jeff also had an interest in tropical fish both fresh water and salt water and entered his prized fish in many local tropical fish shows. He enjoyed travel, especially to the Caribbean, with Turks and Caicos Islands as a favorite. Jeff also spent many happy years vacationing on Cape Cod with family. He loved sports and managed several teams at Roger Ludlowe H.S. while a student there. Jeff never lost his interest in sports and was an avid fan of the Boston Celtics, New York Yankees and the New York Giants. He also secretly loved the LA Rams.

Jeff is survived by his sister, Joan Polster of Fairfield and her son, Patrick Polster and his wife, Elyssa of Fairfield and their children, Jackson, Jessa and Olivia; his brother, Bob Polster and his wife, Laura Ruggeri of Miromar Lakes, Florida and their two sons, Doug Polster and his wife, Brittany and their son, Athens and Chris Polster and his wife, Laura and their daughter, Finley.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Monday, January 30, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. directly at St. Pius X Church. Private interment will follow in Oak Lawn Cemetery.
