Obituary: William E. Kinsella, 95, Of Fairfield

The following obituary of Fairfield resident William E. Kinsella, 95, is from Shaughnessey Banks Funeral Home:

William E. Kinsella, 95 of Fairfield, the beloved husband of the late Marguerite (McKeon) Kinsella, died peacefully on Saturday, May 6, 2023. He was born in Bridgeport to the late Edward and Marie (Walsh) Kinsella and was a lifelong area resident. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Fairfield University in its first graduating class in 1951. Bill then joined the U.S. Army and served honorably during the Korean War.

Bill had a strong faith in God and was member of the Knights of Columbus and a eucharistic minister at St. Augustine Cathedral Parish, where he was an active parishioner for many years. Bill also volunteered for St. Vincent Medical Center’s pastoral care and visited and provided communion for the homebound for over 20 years.

Bill is survived by his brother, Joseph Kinsella and his wife, Helen; granddaughter, Kristen Kinsella; daughter-in-law, Robin Kinsella and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his two sons, Christopher and Paul Kinsella and his brother, James Kinsella.

Friends are invited to greet his family on Saturday, May 20, 2023 from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at the Shaughnessey Banks Funeral Home, 50 Reef Rd. in Fairfield. A Funeral Service will take place at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by interment with Military Honors in St. Thomas Cemetery.
