FAIRFIELD, CT — Old Post Road will remain closed between Beach and Oldfield roads until at least Tuesday evening, Fairfield police stated in a Facebook post. The closure is due to a large tree that fell, downing nine utility poles near Old Town Hall, as a result of a major storm that blew through Fairfield on Sunday.

"Crews have been working around the clock to repair damage on Old Post Road caused by the recent storm," police stated.

Fairfield's town offices were closed Monday but will reopen Tuesday, although they will only be accessible from Beach Road.
