Now we'd like to ask a few questions about your reasons for running and your general views on politics and government. First, why are you seeking this office?
To continue my decade long record of service to the town, and in this election as an incumbent legislative representative, a job I love. As current Majority Leader I seek to create initiatives to improve the quality of life for all residents and to address specific concerns of our local district constituents.
Please complete this statement: The single most pressing issue facing my constituents is \_\_\_, and this is what I intend to do about it.
In my district it is currently Rooster River flooding. I have approved funding for remediation efforts and am following the progress closely while relaying updates to my district constituents.
What are the major differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?
Experience and results. I have a long track record of service and voting to address local concerns, while insuring good fiscal oversight for the entire town.
If you are challenging an incumbent, in what way has the current officeholder failed the community?
I am not challenging an incumbent.
What other issues do you intend to address during your campaign?
Getting our fiscal house in order, bring greater efficiency to ongoing projects and push for much needed oversight and financial controls in Town Hall.
What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?
I have a 10 year track record between the RTM and the BOF. I am proficient at budgets, ordinances and all other matters that come before our board, particularly fiscal in nature.
What is the best advice anyone ever gave you?
To tell the truth, serve my community, have humility and lift others up.
Is there anything else you would like voters to know about yourself and your positions?
Whether there is a change in town leadership or not I am going to strongly advocate for a comprehensive top down audit of internal processes and controls in Town Hall. I am devoted to honest, transparent and efficient government. From my position I will work with all my colleagues to insure these and other improvements are put in place.
