What is your occupation?
I have worked in the advertising field for the last 12 years. I currently lead US Growth for one of the five largest international agency groups.
I served as an officer in the United States Army and Army National Guard both before and during my time in advertising, including a 2014 deployment to Afghanistan.
Do you have a family? If so, please tell us about them.
I have been married to my wife, Plamena, since 2021. We have two children who will attend Fairfield Public Schools in the future. Our older son, Liam, was born in September 2022 and our younger son, Evan, was born in September 2023.
I'd be remiss to leave out our beloved dog, Lola, the most recognized member of our family in the community.
Does anyone in your family work in politics or government?
No.
Have you ever held a public office, whether appointive or elective?
I have served as the Secretary of the FairTV Commission since October 2022, an appointed position here in Fairfield, CT.
Now we'd like to ask a few questions about your reasons for running and your general views on politics and government. First, why are you seeking this office?
To represent the people of District 7. The partisan divide - at federal and local levels - has left many constituents feeling unheard when it comes to the issues that matter to them most.
Like my neighbors and friends, I want to secure a future for my family in Fairfield that represents the Town's values. I am dedicated to ensuring responsible progress for all constituents, not just the ones that share my party color.
Please complete this statement: The single most pressing issue facing my constituents is \_\_\_, and this is what I intend to do about it.
Accountability. The Town, and its Representatives, should be held accountable for protecting our residents and their investment in Fairfield.
1) We must continue to keep taxes low and government efficient. Investment should continue to be focused on promoting quality of life for existing residents: schools, recreation, and safety.
2) We must keep Fairfield a safe place to live and a great place to grow up. Supporting our first responders and ensuring the welfare of our constituents is critical to maintaining the standard of living we've come to love in Fairfield.
3) We must protect the investments of our constituents. With more and more Americans falling short on their savings, the homes they own have become the key pillar of their generational wealth plan. There is an inherent fiduciary responsibility to protect the value of Fairfield residents' property.
What are the major differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?
Motivation. My motivation is for protecting and promoting the future of Fairfield beyond the next election cycle.
We did not have the pleasure of growing up in Fairfield. We chose Fairfield so that our children would. We have 20+ years of raising children in Fairfield ahead of us. I'm seeking this position to make sure that Fairfield maintains its station as the best of what Connecticut has to offer.
If you are challenging an incumbent, in what way has the current officeholder failed the community?
The new District 7 faces the immediate impacts of issues such as School Redistricting, 8-30g Zoning and Development, and Environmental Remediation.
Incumbents have fallen short in their efforts to support the residents of the new District 7 and I look forward to stepping up and being a loud voice to protect their interests at the RTM.
What other issues do you intend to address during your campaign?
Fiscal responsibility, community safety, and protection of residents' investments are the three key pillars to my campaign.
But I will address the issues that are of importance to the people of District 7 as they arise. I look forward to meeting and reconnecting with more of my neighbors, hearing what is on their mind, and working with them to craft a better way forward for our district.
What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?
1) Bipartisan Leadership: I have been the only Republican commission member of FairTV since joining in October 2022. I have used my post to work with my counterparts to deliver efficiencies and progressive reinvestment in FairTV. Priorities over politics.
2) Problem Solving: Much of my advertising work is in delivering value for clients who consistently want more for less, often with seemingly impossible constraints. I pride myself in leveraging partnerships and patience to craft creative solutions to challenging problems.
3) Servant Representation: Too often we hear about political leaders, not representatives. My history of servant leadership in the Army, as VFW Post Trustee, and on the FairTV Commission should instill confidence in voters that I will never waver from my duty. I will work for, and be held accountable by, my neighbors in District 7.
What is the best advice anyone ever gave you?
"Mission First, People Always."
Is there anything else you would like voters to know about yourself and your positions?
I am a political outsider with a vested interest in the future of Fairfield. I am committed to serving my neighbors in District 7 with unparalleled passion.
I will always be accessible, I will own my votes, and I will never take for granted the privilege to serve.
