Pequot Library’s Annual Easter Egg Roll Returns March 31

SOUTHPORT, CT — (Contributed press release): Pequot Library welcomes visitors to their 12th annual Easter Egg Roll on Saturday, March 31, at 10 a.m. in the Auditorium and on the Great Lawn. This cherished community event takes its inspiration from the long-standing White House tradition. The history of the White House Egg Roll began in the 1870s on Capitol Hill, which had become a popular spot for children to roll eggs, and themselves, down the hill on the day after Easter.

At Pequot Library's Easter Egg Roll, participants can dance the bunny hop, make crafts, play games, meet the Easter Bunny, and visit with Pequot's real rabbit, Blossom. Bring hard-boiled eggs for decorating, and then choose a favorite egg to enter in the age-category races. Please bring a long-handled wooden spoon for the roll. This free event, for ages 2-12, takes place rain or shine.
