Person Injured In Stabbing In Fairfield: Police

FAIRFIELD, CT — Fairfield police are investigating after a man was stabbed during an incident on Putting Green Road Friday morning, resulting in the victim being hospitalized in stable condition, according to authorities.

The incident occurred at about 11:30 a.m., and the victim suffered injuries that authorities believe are not a threat to life.

A suspect has been apprehended, according to post on the Fairfield police Facebook page.

"Patrol officers arrived within minutes, detained the individual responsible, and immediately rendered aid to the injured person," officials wrote. "The victim is currently in stable condition with non-life-threatening injuries."

According to police, the victim and the alleged assailant in the incident "were known to each other, lived together, and this was an isolated incident."

Nearby North Stratfield School "was briefly placed in secure status as a precaution until officers confirmed that the individual responsible was in custody."

Taken into custody was 56-year-old Fairfield resident Darren Palumbo, who Fairfield police said will be charged in connection with the incident.

The investigation remains ongoing by Fairfield Police Detectives.
