FAIRFIELD, CT — Fairfield was alight with holiday spirit Friday during the annual tree lighting at Town Hall Green. Parks and recreation personnel estimated about 1,000 people turned out for the event, which began with choral performances from Fairfield middle school students, Fairfield Warde High School Chorale and Fairfield Center Stage. Dwight Elementary School Principal Mimi Maniscalco turned on the lights for the tree after she was nominated for the honor by a community member. With the tree aglow, Santa arrived on a Fairfield firetruck, accompanied by Mrs. Claus, Rudolph, Frosty and several elves.
