Police Arrest NY Man Suspected Of Multiple Burglaries In Fairfield

The burglaries occurred in 2022, according to authorities.

FAIRFIELD, CT — A 46-year-old Brooklyn, New York man was arrested this month by Fairfield police in connection with a series of commercial burglaries in town in 2022, according to authorities.

Abner Morisset was arrested on June 2 while appearing in court on an unrelated matter, and was charged with the following:

  • Burglary in the First Degree
  • Three counts of Burglary in the Third Degree
  • Larceny in the Third Degree
  • Burglary in the Fourth Degree
  • Larceny in the Sixth Degree

"The arrest stemmed from a Fairfield Police investigation into a series of commercial burglaries that occurred in the downtown area of Fairfield in March of 2022," Sgt. Jenna Wellington told Patch. "Detectives identified Morisset through surveillance footage and evidence developed during the investigation, as well as coordination with multiple law enforcement agencies."

Morisset is alleged to have stolen cash, laptops, and other property from several businesses, which police said totaled approximately $6,000 in reported losses.

He is being held in lieu of bail of $5,000, and he is scheduled to appear in Bridgeport Superior Court on July 1.
