Drug Bust After Police Raid on Fairfield Beach Road; Shoplifting Arrest of Juvenile

An 18-year-old man was arrested on drug charges Thursday after police executed a search-and-seizure warrant on a house on Fairfield Beach Road in Fairfield.
Mitchell Camarda was charged with possession of marijuana, possession of marijuana with intent to sell and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was released on a promise to appear in Bridgeport Superior Court May 20.
Detective Sgt. Edward Greene said police executed the search-and-seizure warrant about noon Thursday as part of an investigation into drug activity at the house. Police found two bags of marijuana totaling 40.7 grams in Camarda's car, along with packaging material and an electronic scale, Greene said.

A 15-year-old Bridgeport boy, accused of stealing a pair of Nike flip-flops from Kohl's, a department store on Tunxis Hill Road in Fairfield, Thursday night was arrested on a sixth-degree larceny charge.
The boy, whose name was not released by police because of his age, was turned over to his mother and was scheduled to appear May 24 in Juvenile Court in Bridgeport, police said.

Police said the boy concealed the flip-flops in his jacket and tried to leave the store without paying for them. He was detained by Kohl's security until officers arrived, police said.
