2 Who Fled Cops Apprehended In Fairfield, 3rd Man Escapes

If residents see anything suspicious, they are asked to call police.

FAIRFIELD, CT — Police searched Tuesday in the area of Tunxis Hill Park, Berkeley Road and Greenfield Street for a man who fled Bridgeport officers, but did not find him, Fairfield police posted on social media.

The incident began around 4:45 p.m. on Wood Avenue in Bridgeport, where police pursued suspects thought to possess illegal firearms, according to Bridgeport Police Department Public Information Officer Terron Jones. The chase ended in Fairfield, where three suspects abandoned their car on Brookfield Avenue and fled, Fairfield police said in a comment on social media. One of the suspects was apprehended in Tunxis Hill Park and another was apprehended near Stop & Shop.

Police were unable to find the third suspect, but believe he returned to Bridgeport. The suspect is Hispanic with light skin and long hair. If residents see anything suspicious, they are asked to call 911 or 203-254-4800.
