Police Seek Information About Wallet Theft At Fairfield Store
After the theft, which occurred at a Fairfield grocery store, several fraudulent transactions were made using the victim's credit cards.
FAIRFIELD, CT — Fairfield police are asking for the public's help after two people stole a wallet from a Fairfield grocery store and used the credit cards inside to make several purchases, according to law enforcement.
The theft occurred around 7 p.m. Dec. 9, when a customer left his wallet at a checkout counter at ShopRite, 1975 Black Rock Turnpike, police said Friday in a Facebook post. The wallet was stolen by a man and woman captured in surveillance footage, according to police, who said the woman is thought to have been shopping for Instacart. After the theft, fraudulent transactions were made using the victim's credit cards.
In a video posted on Facebook by police, the man suspected in the theft has dark hair, a dark beard and glasses, and is wearing a dark gray hooded sweatshirt and a red baseball hat. The woman in the recording has long dark hair, glasses and a black coat.
