Prep Baseball Player Marr Honored By SCC

Fairfield Prep baseball player Connor Marr was named a Southern Connecticut Conference scholar-athlete of the month award winner for May.

A key member of the Jesuits' baseball squad, Marr has been equally impressive in the classroom with a 3.6 grade point average. A member of the campus ministry, Connor participates in the jazz band and was a religious and freshman retreat leader.

This season, Connor earned All-Quinnipiac Division honors for his efforts on the diamond.

"Connor is a great student and has been a valued member of the Prep baseball squad," Jesuits coach Rudy Mauritz said.

Fairfield Prep completed a 12-8 regular season and plays at Manchester on Tuesday in the first round of the CIAC Class LL state tournament.
