“The grant funds are designated to replace and repair existing sidewalks and install new sidewalks in the McKinley School area,” the email states. “The goal is to create a safe walking path to McKinley as well as to encourage fitness and provide safer walking paths to the Tunxis Hill Bus Shelter. This grant will provide sidewalks for the following streets: Cardinal Street, Lenox Street, Thompson Street, Knapps Highway (East and West sides), Pope Street, and the Tunxis Hill Bus Shelter. An additional grant request is being made for funding to include more streets in the area.”
