Remodeling Contractors Association/NARI Awards local contractors

RCA recently awarded local contractors and companies at their awards dinner on December 5th.

is pleased to announce the sponsors for making the annual Holiday Awards Dinner held on December 5th Eli’s on Main in Hamden possible honoring RCA members. Gold sponsor was James Hardie Building Products and Silver Sponsor LP Siding and Trim.

Remodeler Large Project of the Year: Chris Shea Domus Constructors in Norwalk.

This remodeling project in Fairfield began in Early January 2019 and just wrapped up. The clients moved out and the interior was completely gutted, torn down was an existing detached garage and built a new garage connected to the home by a covered walkway. The roof was replaced with cedar shingles, exterior trim, siding, gutters and flashing. All windows and exterior and interior doors were replaced, all flooring was replaced, all bathrooms, kitchen, laundry were all replaced.

The entire home has been renovated and is spectacular. Domus is very proud of their efforts and the high-quality work that the trades have accomplished.

Small Project of the Year: Dave Grecco Carpentry and Handyman Concepts in Norwalk

His project was a stain finished bookcase with heavy glass selves and led puck lights that his decorator designed with coffered ceiling in the living room

Dan Miller Founders Award: Steve Gidley

An RCA member from 1974 - 1990 an IRCA member from 1990 - 2003, presently and since the beginning, a NARI/RCA member. Total membership spanning over 47 years.

Steve served on the Board with Dan and personally pioneered the fight for local zoning legislative changes to allow the display of Contractor's job signs which Dan wholeheartedly supported and together they appealed the regulations which prohibited them in the early 1980's. Steve was IRCA Southern Fairfield County Chapter President in 1992, 1993 and 1994. Lastly, Steve's many contributions to the remodeling industry over the past 50 plus years have had a very positive impact on the industry.
