Fairfield Police Make Major Drug Bust Tuesday

Police seized 300 bags of heroin in the operation.

The Fairfield Police Department completed a lengthy investigation with a major drug bust on Tuesday that led to the seizure of 300 bags of heroin, approximately $3,000 cash, a loaded handgun, and two vehicles.

Police executed a search warrant on a motor vehicle that was stopped in the Kohl’s parking lot on Tunxis Hill Road and later at two homes in Bridgeport.

Christian Pichardo, 20, of Bridgeport, was arrested on charges of possession of narcotics with the intent to sell, possession of narcotics within 1,500 feet of a school, possession of a firearm with an obliterated serial number.

Pichardo is being held on a $100,000 bond, according to police.

Police said the arrest and the subsequent seizures are the culmination of a lengthy investigation into a heroin distribution operation in and around Fairfield.
