Report: Former Fairfield Teacher in Sex Case Received Glowing Job Recommendation at Stamford High
The teacher's record is being questioned after he reportedly was suspended just four months before receiving the recommendation.

As former Fairfield Ludlowe teacher Glenn Mishuck, 49, awaits his sentencing after pleading guilty in late May to having sex with a female student in 2013, his record while at Stamford High School is being called into question in an investigative report by Hearst Connecticut Media.
The Fairfield Citizen reports that Mishuck received a glowing job recommendation from then-Stamford Principal Tony Pavia in 2002, even though he had been suspended for several days just four months before the recommendation.
Hearst Media obtained the records though a state Freedom of Information Act.

The Stamford school district is not disclosing the reasons why Mishuck was suspended.
In the letter of recommendation, Pavia wrote that Mishuck was “without question, one of the finest teachers and coaches at our high school.”

Mishuck was an English teacher and baseball coach while at Stamford and was commended for working well with students of all levels of ability, according to the Citizen.
Mishuck is scheduled to be sentenced Aug. 7 and faces between 18 months and three and a half years in prison.
Mishuck agreed to plead guilty to four counts of second-degree sexual assault. He had been accused of having sex with the 17-year-old student 17 times in 2013.
