Riding Lawn Mower Engulfed In Blaze Outside Fairfield Restaurant

'The fire was pretty big,' a fire department official said.

FAIRFIELD, CT — A riding lawn mower was destroyed Monday in a fire in the parking lot of Andro's Diner, a Fairfield fire official said. The incident was reported at 2:30 p.m. at the restaurant, 651 Villa Ave., where the lawn mower caught fire, according to Assistant Chief George Gomola.

"The fire was pretty big," he said.

The blaze fully engulfed the lawn mower and started to spread to the building, but was extinguished before it could cause any damage to the structure, according to Gomola. No one was injured and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
