Road Reopened in Fairfield Following Discovery of Radioactive Device
The road was cleared just before 3 p.m.

A Fairfield road has reopened after it was shut down when a radioactive device was found in a car on Kings Highway.
According to WFSB, the car was originally pulled over for misuse of plates and it was determined that the devise was a soil density machine.
The road closure was all the way from Villa Avenue to the town line.

NBC Connecticut reports that the company to which the device belongs was called on scene to retrieve the device. The Connecticut State Police Bomb Squad and Department of Energy and Environmental Protection were also present at the scene.

Of the three people in the car, at least one was served with an arrest warrant.
