Santa Claus Is Coming To Fairfield This Weekend
The Fairfield Chamber of Commerce announces details for the annual Santa Visits Fairfield community event.
FAIRFIELD, CT — Santa Claus is coming to town on Saturday, Nov. 25. Santa Claus, played by Joe Skarupa, a perennial Santa-About-Town, will arrive by hook-and-ladder down Reef Road at 10 a.m. for the town’s annual Santa Visits Fairfield event. He will sit in the decorated gazebo on Sherman Green until approximately 2 p.m. to listen to the wide-eyed wishes of children, the Fairfield Chamber of Commerce announced in a press release.
Santa’s elves will give each child an adorable, small holiday gift item sponsored by Senior Helpers. This free event, in its 17th year, is made available to the community through the generous support of the Chamber’s membership, expressly: Bankwell as the Event Sponsor, plus: Massage Envy and F45 Training.

As in the past, the ever-popular children’s petting zoo will return, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., weather permitting, sponsored by ACBI Insurance … as well as the much anticipated horse and wagon rides (10 a.m. to 2 p.m.), sponsored by Bigelow Tea, Fairfield University, Westy Self Storage, Delamar Southport, LCP General Contractors, LLC, White Rose Home Healthcare Agency, LLC, Splash Car Wash, and Rockin’ Jump Trumbull. A food truck will sell breakfast sandwiches/coffee and hamburgers and hot dogs to the public, plus a variety drinks. D.J. Scott Nickel will provide classic and traditional holiday music, creating an even more festive feeling, as children walk up into the Gazebo to see Santa.
Also back by popular demand this year, chamber member FTC, will be a hosting and showing a Special Family Film: Frozen - The Sing-Along Edition. Doors open at 1 p.m. and the show starts at 1:30 p.m., held at the Fairfield Theatre Company in The Warehouse (70 Sanford Street, Fairfield, CT). Admission is $5 per ticket, while they last.

The Chamber has also invited non-profit organizations to distribute information about their charitable community outreach efforts and/or sell holiday items to benefit and support their programs. In addition, holiday face painting and free hot chocolate will be offered as well.
Nov. 25 is also “Small Business Saturday,” a national campaign started by American Express to promote, and remind our residents and people, to “shop local” and support local businesses. The Chamber will give out “I Love Fairfield” button pins, along with a “Shop Local” items from the Town of Fairfield, including canvas bags.
