The single biggest issue in town is ______, and I plan to do this about it:

Affordable housing. I intend to make sure that the 8-30g statute is applied ethically and equitably and that it is not simply a carte-blanche for developers to ignore local zoning laws. We need to ensure that Fairfield remains welcoming and accessible to people of all socioeconomic status.

Critical differences between me and my opponents:

I make no promises about "fighting 8-30g'. It is state law. If elected, I can promise to fight to make sure our local zoning regulations are respected and the public's health and safety are protected. I also pledge to support commonsense efforts to expand affordable housing such as the expansion of accessory dwelling units in our zoning regulations, the use of our town's affordable housing trust fund to purchase properties for affordable housing, and and the creation of affordable housing through the Fairfield Housing Authority.

Accomplishments:

I have been a disability rights advocate for over 20 years. As part of my advocacy work and I have been involved in efforts to ensure ADA compliance of public buildings and to increase the availability of accessible housing. I believe my experience will help me as I work with the TPZ Commission to ensure that Fairfield retains its character while remaining a welcoming town to all who want to live here.

Other issues:

I believe in ethics, inclusivity, diversity, and and accountability.

What else would you like voters to know about you?

I believe in smart development. If elected, I will work to achieve a more just, diverse, and inclusive community in which people who work in Fairfield (such as our teachers, police, and and firefighters and essential workers) can afford to live in Fairfield.
