Shawn Colvin and Marc Cohn @ Norwalk Concert Hall 6/26/15

Standing out front of the world’s female singer songwriters, Shawn Colvin is a singular and enduring talent. Admired for her slow-release songs and that sonic catharsis that comes with each of them, they become lifetime companions for their listeners. As a storyteller, Colvin is both keen and warm-hearted, leavening even the toughest tales with tenderness, empathy, and a searing sense of humor.
In the 19 years since the release of her debut album, Steady On, Colvin has won three Grammy Awards, released eight critically acclaimed solo albums, maintained a non-stop national and international touring schedule, appeared on countless television and radio programs, had her songs featured in major motion pictures, and created a remarkable cannon of work.
She is admired in all circles that respect the craft of a singer songwriter for not only her smooth, relatable voice and touching tales, but for her endurance and how she carries herself; a travelling troubadour on a mission to share her gift.

Born in Cleveland, OH, singer-songwriter Marc Cohn will forever be associated with another great American city by virtue of his signature hit, “Walking In Memphis,” the melodic, literate and dramatic masterpiece that debuted the same year Cohn won the GRAMMY for Best New Artist.
Cohn is a noble storyteller with the rebel attitude of Jesse Winchester and the intellectual posture of Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell and James Taylor. The gruff-voiced bluesy folk singer’s singalong choruses, introspective lyrics, and vocal stylings reveal his ‘60s soul and ‘70s singer/songwriter influences. Come out and see one of our favorite StageOne performers, as we welcome him back for the fifth time.
