Shoah Memorial Fairfield Event Scheduled In Westport This Weekend
Local celebrity and activist Jim Naughton is set to host the event, which will introduce the Shoah Memorial initiative in Fairfield.
FAIRFIELD, CT — Shoah Memorial Fairfield, Connecticut will host "Fighting Antisemitism and Celebrating Community: An Introduction to the Shoah Memorial" from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Westport Library on Sunday, April 12, organizers announced. The event was rescheduled from Jan. 25 because of snow.
According to the nonprofit organization, the event will provide an early look at the Shoah Memorial, a project intended to honor history while also addressing antisemitism and hate through a local initiative with broader reach.
"In an era of rising division, how do we transform the lessons of the past into a shield for the future?" organizers wrote in a statement. "Join us for an exclusive first look at the Shoah Memorial, a landmark project coming to Fairfield that honors history while actively combating hate. Discover how this local initiative aims to make a global impact."

Local celebrity and activist Jim Naughton will host the April 12 event, and expected guests will include "She Wouldn’t Take Off Her Boots" artist Victoria Milstein; Fairfield University Assistant to the President for Arts and Culture Philip Eliasoph, PhD.; Holocaust survivor Michael Schell; Founding Educator of the Holocaust Resource Center of Greater Fairfield County Shelly Kreiger; and an advisor to the Fairfield Jewish Advocacy Coalition.
