Sidewalk Sale Returns To Fairfield This Weekend
Over 75 vendors are expected to participate, setting up stands and offering a variety of merchandise for sale along the Post Road.

FAIRFIELD, CT — The Fairfield Sidewalk Sale & Street Fair returns to town this Saturday. The event will take place 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., rain or shine.
“The Chamber is happy to once again, co-sponsor Fairfield’s much-anticipated Sidewalk Sale Day with the Town, giving us the opportunity to showcase and support our wonderful Fairfield merchants and businesses to all who attend,” said Beverly Balaz, president of the Fairfield Chamber of Commerce, in a town news release.
Over 75 vendors are expected to participate in Fairfield Center, setting up stands and offering a variety of merchandise for sale along the Post Road from the Heritage Square Shopping Center to the Promenade at the Brick Walk. Admission to the event, which is sponsored by the town of Fairfield and the Fairfield Chamber of Commerce, is free. Select merchants will offer advance sales beginning Thursday.

“I encourage our residents to come out and support our local businesses and be a part of this fun-filled event, which includes live musical entertainment at various venues within the downtown, special menu offerings at the many delicious participating restaurants, and activities for children and families,” First Selectwoman Brenda Kupchick said in the news release.
Sherman Green will feature an inflatable bounce house, as part of a sponsored Kid’s Zone, as well as vendors and musical entertainment, including the WEBE 108 street team. Members of the Fairfield Teen Theatre Company will also be presenting an 11 a.m. preview of their upcoming stage production, "School of Rock."

This year’s event will include live musical entertainment at multiple venues across downtown. Musicians will be playing throughout the day at venues set up at the Brick Walk, at Sherman Green, in front of the SHU Community Theater, at JB Percival located on Donnelly Walk, and near the Fairfield University Bookstore.
Attendees can stop by the Experience Fairfield tent on Sherman Green for a complimentary Fairfield Buy Local reusable shopping bag, while supplies last, as well as a chance to win prizes as part of raffle drawings to be held each hour.
Shoppers who decide to take a break for lunch can take advantage of “buy one, get one” deals at the Old Post Tavern, which will offer the special on house wines, plus house liquor, and draft and bottled beer from 3 to 6 p.m. in the bar area. Catch a Healthy Habit is offering specials on all juices and smoothies, while The Chelsea is featuring bottomless mimosas and bloody marys. Hungry shoppers can grab a burger at Flipside Burgers & Bar, which is offering pitchers and glasses of sangria for 25 percent off. Those in search of a sit-down meal can visit The Little Goose, where diners can get a $20 gift card with a purchase of $100 or more.
