Sikorsky will be testing a "Bambi Bucket," which is a fire suppression device, On Tuesday and Wednesday, according to police officials.
FAIRFIELD, CT — Sikorsky Aircraft will be flying a Blackhawk helicopter above Jennings Beach in Fairfield Tuesday and Wednesday to test a "Bambi Bucket," which is a fire suppression device, Fairfield police announced. The tests are being announced so that the public is aware of what is going on at the beach.
"During these tests, the Blackhawk helicopter will be hovering at a relatively low altitude over the water," authorities said. "The testing involves multiple filling and emptying cycles throughout the day."
The tests will likely occur between 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., as the Bambi Bucket requires air temperatures to be above 32 degrees.
