Stratfield Village Association Donates $150,000 To Fairfield Project

The neighborhood group has raised more than $1.3 million for a beautification and safety project at the Four Corners intersection.

FAIRFIELD, CT — The Stratfield Village Association, the active neighborhood group in northern Fairfield, is continuing to raise funds for the Four Corners Improvement Project, and earlier this month donated $150,000 to the town toward the effort.

According to Dylan O'Connor and Jamie McCusker, Stratfield residents and the association's co-presidents, the improvement project is both a beautification effort and safety initiative at the neighborhood's Four Corners area.

The Four Corners is the intersection of Fairfield Woods and Stratfield roads, and plans call for new landscaping, colorful crosswalks, a median and other improvements.

"We're pushing hard to break ground this fall," McCusker told Patch. "We'd like for this to be done in 2023."

So far, the association has helped raise more than $1.3 million for the project through state and local grants, fundraising efforts, private donations and money from nearby Sacred Heart University, among others.

"We've held garden tours, house tours, the Party in the Park event and others," O'Connor said. "It's been a lot of hard work and grassroots efforts."

On Sept. 10, the association held Lincoln Parkapalooza, a big block party held throughout the village that featured 18 bands, a half-dozen food trucks, more than 20 vendors, a trolley ride and other activities. Before that concerts, the association held a 9/11 remembrance ceremony at the Stratfield Firehouse.

Nearly 2,000 people attended, with some of the proceeds going toward the Four Corners project and other initiatives, such as a college scholarship fund.
