Suspect In Fairfield Armed Robbery Hit With Additional Charges: Police

The Bridgeport man faces more charges in connection with the incident, which authorities said occurred earlier this month.

FAIRFIELD, CT — Wesner Thelamour, the 40-year-old Bridgeport man arrested in connection with an armed robbery this month in Fairfield, was arrested again this week on more charges associated with the crime, according to Fairfield police.

Thelamour was arrested on Wednesday on a warrant charging him with first-degree robbery with a firearm, and second-degree larceny.

Earlier this month, Thelamour was arrested on a charge of carrying a pistol without a permit.

According to Fairfield police, the case began at about 9 p.m. on March 2, when officers were called to News Express at 200 Tunxis Hill Road after receiving a report of a robbery in progress. Investigators said a masked person entered the store, displayed a handgun and demanded money from an employee.

The suspect, later identified as Thelamour, fled with an undisclosed amount of cash, and was eventually apprehended at his home.

After Wednesday's arrest, Thelamour is being held in lieu of bail of $175,000, and he is scheduled to be arraigned in Bridgeport Superior Court on Thursday.
