Suspect Threatens ‘People Will Be Hurt’ in CVS Robberies: Fairfield Police

Fairfield Police are investigating two robberies at CVS in which about $20,000 worth of OxyContin tablets have been stolen.

FAIRFIELD, CT — Fairfield Police are investigating two robberies that occurred at CVS Pharmacy, 1968 Black Rock Turnpike, on June 24 and Oct. 9 in which about 2,000 total OxyContin tablets were stolen.

Police said that in both cases a white male entered the CVS and went to the pharmacy counter where he made threats that “people will be hurt” to the Pharmacy Technician if he does not comply with his request.

In both cases the Pharmacy Technician complies, and the suspect fled the scene with approximately 1,000 OxyContin tablets, for a total of approximately 2,000 tablets, and a street value of nearly $20,000, according to police.

OxyContin (oxycodone) is a narcotic analgesic that is used to reduce pain. It is a controlled substance and police said its high content of oxycodone makes it popular on the street.

The suspect is described as a white male, average height, average build, wearing a baseball-style cap and gloves. In the first incident he was carrying a backpack, and the second incident he was carrying an umbrella.
