The first selectwoman will do the countdown to light the tallest living tree in Connecticut and Santa arrives by fire engine soon after.

Via Fairfield Parks and Recreation: FAIRFIELD, CT — The occasion that truly kicks off the holiday season in Fairfield is the annual lighting of the Christmas tree Friday on the Town Hall Green. Gather with your family and count down as we light the tallest living tree in Connecticut.

The festivities begin at 5:55 p.m. with the Fairfield Woods, Roger Ludlowe and Tomlinson middle school chamber choirs singing songs of the season. The Fairfield Warde High School choral group will sing at 6:15 p.m. and Fairfield Center Stage will perform at 6:40 p.m. Enjoy some hot chocolate and free glow necklaces compliments of the Town Youth Council. First Selectwoman Brenda Kupchick will do the countdown to light the tree at 7 p.m. and Santa Claus arrives by fire engine soon after.
