Traffic Crash Victims To Be Remembered Sunday In Fairfield

Fairfield will participate Sunday in the World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims.

FAIRFIELD, CT — This weekend, Fairfield will officially participate in the World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims for the first time.

The town's Bicycle and Pedestrian Committee will lead a commemoration 1 p.m. Sunday at Sherman Green.

“The Fairfield Bicycle and Pedestrian Committee’s purpose is to work toward making our streets safe and comfortable for all users through implementing our town’s Bike & Pedestrian Master Plan," committee Chair Sarah Roy said in a news release. "We appreciate this opportunity to honor the lives impacted by road traffic violence by participating in this important global event."

The World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims is a high-profile global event to remember the millions who have been killed and seriously injured on the world’s roads and to acknowledge the suffering of all affected victims, families and communities.
