Vehicle Burglarized, Window Smashed Outside Downtown Fairfield Restaurant: Police

The burglary was one of several private property crimes reported Friday, according to Fairfield police.

FAIRFIELD, CT — The window of a vehicle parked outside a restaurant in downtown Fairfield was smashed Friday and items were stolen, according to police.

The incident was reported about 11 p.m. at Geronimo Tequila Bar and Southwest Grill, 2070 Post Road, police said. The vehicle's passenger side window was smashed between roughly 7 and 11 p.m. in a rear parking area near the business, according to police. A handbag, wallet and shoes were stolen and the case is under investigation, police said.

The burglary was one of several private property crimes reported Friday. A garage door was kicked in between Wednesday and Friday in the 200 block of Knollwood Drive and a car in the 200 block of Parkwood Road was rummaged through while the owner was out of town, according to police.
