Verdict Reached In Trial Of Crash That Killed A Fairfield Woman

The Fairfield resident was stuck and killed in January 2018 in Stamford by a vehicle driven by George E. Christiansen.

STAMFORD, CT — Stamford resident George E. Christiansen was found not guilty of second-degree manslaughter Thursday in connection with the death of Fairfield resident and pedestrian Lynette Wagner in January 2018, reports the Stamford Advocate.

Wagner was struck and killed on Jan. 2 while she was crossing Elm Street on her way to work at Henkel USA.

Judge Richard Comerford's ruling of not guilty, which frustrated the lead Stamford police investigator on the case, was based on his belief that crash was an accident. Prosecutors did not prove that Christiansen was reckless in the face of a dangerous situation, according to the publication.
