Warde Softball To Take On Waterford Monday at West Haven
Musangs have reached state semifinals for first time in school history
The Fairfield Warde softball team will take on top seed and undefeated Waterford, also the defending state champion, in the semifinals of the CIAC Class L tournament on Monday night at 7 p.m. at West Haven.
It will be the second game of a Class L doubleheader, as Brookfield and Bristol Eastern meet in the opener at 4 p.m.
Warde (18-5), which is making its first appearance in the semifinals in school history, advanced with wins over Sheehan (4-3) and Hand (4-2).

But the Mustangs will be facing their toughest test to date, as Kelli Connors' pitched a perfect game in Waterford's 1-0 second-round win over Wilton. Connors came back to toss a one-hitter in a 1-0 quarterfinal victory over Lyman Hall in eight innings.
Monday's winners will square off in the finals on Friday or Saturday at Stratford's Deluca Field.
