Warde's Ryan Finishes Second in the 1,600 and 3,200 meters In State Open Meet

Ryan finishes behind Glastonbury's Lindsay Crevoiserat in both events

In a slight upset, Fairfield Warde's Meg Ryan placed second in the 1,600 meters and 3,200 meters Monday at the state Open track and field championships at New Britain's Willowbrook Park.

The University of Notre Dame-bound Ryan finished behind Glastonbury's Lindsay Crevoiserat in both events.

Ryan won the two races in the Class L meet last week, setting a personal-best time of 4:51.76 in the 1,600. The only other runner to post a sub-five-minute time in the event was Crevoiserat (4:57.88).

On Monday, the order was reversed, as the Glastonbury runner finished in 4:50.00 - a little more than five seconds faster than Ryan's time of 4:55.12.

In the 3,200 meters, Crevoiserat (10:37.83) outdistanced Ryan (10:50.54) by nearly 13 seconds.

Ryan's teammate - Carly Birkhold - was a close third in the 3,200 meters with a finish of 10:52.70
