Winter Weather Advisory Now Issued For CT Coast

The National Weather Service has just issued a Winter Weather Advisory for the immediate Connecticut coast. Here is what we can expect.

CONNECTICUT COAST — The National Weather Service has just issued a Winter Weather Advisory for the coast of Fairfield, New Haven, Middlesex, and New London county from 9 p.m. Monday to 10 a.m. Tuesday.

The advisory was issued in a statement by the weather service. Here is what they said in the advisory: "Mixed precipitation expected. Total snow accumulations of up to two inches and ice accumulations up to a tenth of an inch."

"IMPACTS...Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the Tuesday morning commute."

Tonight
Rain, snow, freezing rain, and sleet likely before 2am, then freezing rain and sleet between 2am and 4am, then rain and sleet after 4am. Low around 31. Wind chill values between 25 and 30. Light east wind increasing to 9 to 14 mph after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 90%. Little or no ice accumulation expected. New snow and sleet accumulation of 1 to 2 inches possible.

Tuesday
Rain and sleet before 9am, then rain between 9am and 3pm, then rain and sleet likely after 3pm. High near 36. Wind chill values between 25 and 30. Northeast wind 9 to 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New sleet accumulation of less than one inch possible.

Tuesday Night
A 30 percent chance of rain before 8pm. Cloudy during the early evening, then gradual clearing, with a low around 29. Wind chill values between 20 and 25. North wind 10 to 13 mph.

Wednesday
A 20 percent chance of showers after noon. Increasing clouds, with a high near 36. West wind 9 to 15 mph.
