Woman, 75, Sexually Assaulted At Nursing Home In Fairfield

FAIRFIELD, CT — A New York man is accused of sexually assaulting an incapacitated 75-year-old woman at a nursing home in Fairfield last year, according to the Connecticut Post.

The Post reports Elias Saldana, 58, was arrested this week in connection to a sexual assault that occurred at the Regal Care nursing home on Mill Hill Terrace in January of 2018. Nurses told police that Saldana had been in the elderly woman’s room without permission and they noticed that her clothing was in disarray and it was later determined that she had been sexually assaulted, according to the Post.

Saldana denied sexually assaulting the woman but police say based on DNA testing he couldn’t be eliminated as a contributor of DNA that was found on the victim, the Post reports.
