Fairfield police are investigating an early Monday morning break-in on Berkeley Road in which a man allegedly sexually assaulted a woman before fleeing the home.
The Fairfield Citizen reports that the victim is a Sacred Heart University student and she lives with several roommates that weren’t home at the time. In addition to the sexual assault, the woman suffered other physical injuries during the attack, according to the Citizen, and she was treated at a hospital and later released.
Police said the woman reported a subject entered her home at approximately 3 a.m. Monday morning, and assaulted her before fleeing. She described him as a short, stocky male, in his 20s, standing approximately between 5-foot-2 and 5-foot-6, with dark spiky hair, and what were described as light colored eyes. She believed he had some facial acne, and spoke with a Spanish accent. She did not see or hear a vehicle leave the scene.
