Woman Impersonates 79-Year-Old, Tries To Steal $4K: Fairfield PD
The woman signed the victim's name on a withdrawal slip and showed police a fake driver's license, according to Fairfield authorities.

FAIRFIELD, CT — A woman is accused of impersonating an elderly person and trying to steal $4,000 from the victim’s bank account, according to Fairfield police.
Doris E. McCory, 70, attempted to withdraw the money from the person’s account about 5 p.m. Wednesday at TD Bank, 1643 Post Road, police said. McCoy displayed a Florida driver’s license with the victim’s personal information but McCoy’s picture, according to police, who said McCoy also signed the victim’s name on the withdrawal slip and showed police the fake license.
The victim is 79 years old, police said. McCoy was arrested and charged with second-degree identity theft of a victim older than 60, second-degree forgery, attempted third-degree larceny, criminal impersonation and interfering with police, according to authorities. She was taken to police headquarters and released on an $8,000 bond, law enforcement said.
