Woman Robbed At Gunpoint In Fairfield Parking Lot: Police

The incident occurred during a late-night crime spree across the Fairfield-Bridgeport town line, according to police.

FAIRFIELD, CT — A woman was robbed at gunpoint during a late-night crime spree across the Fairfield-Bridgeport town line, according to Fairfield police. The incident occurred Tuesday in the parking lot of a Walgreens in the 400 block of Kings Highway East in Fairfield, a police report said.

The woman's car keys and cellphone were stolen by a suspect who got into a gold Honda SUV heading north on Jennings Road, according to the Fairfield report. Later Tuesday, at least one similar robbery took place in the area of Fairfield Avenue in Bridgeport. Bridgeport officers pursued the suspects to the P.T. Barnum Apartments, where they were taken into custody, according to Bridgeport police.

The Fairfield robbery victim identified a juvenile in custody as her assailant and an adult man also in custody as the driver, Fairfield police said. Her cellphone and keys were inside the Honda, which the suspects are accused of stealing earlier in the evening in Bridgeport, according to police. No gun was found. The juvenile was issued a summons for robbery and larceny for the Fairfield incident. The man, identified by Bridgeport police as Carlos Asad, 20, was charged with larceny, interfering and engaging police in pursuit.
